OFFENCE
1-2 Triangle Rotation + 2-1 Net-Front
1-2 Triangle Rotation + 2-1 Net-Front
Principle:
Never hold onto the ball for too long
Move into a new position immediately after passing
Always keep the triangle open
One player deep, two in support
Go for the rebound and counter-press immediately after shooting
Key Pattern
Pass – Move – Replace
Example:
2 passes to 3
2 drops deep
1 replaces 2
3 decides: shoot / cross / pass back (Exit)
This creates movement. And movement is crucial in 3v3.
Most dangerous attack variant:
2-1 with the net at the front
Idea
Two players positioned wide at the top
One player in front of or beside the goal
Quick shift of play
Direct shot
Screen / Tip-in / Rebound
Important
The player in front of the net must not stand still.
He must be active:
Set a screen
Block the goalkeeper’s view
Break away briefly
Attack the rebound
Draw in the opposition
Transition play: 2-1 counter-attack
Once you've won the ball.the best option is often a direct 2-on-1 counter-attack.
Ballcarrier Support
Defender
Coaching Point
First pass immediately vertical
Second player sprints into open space
Third player covers at the back
Finish the move after 2–3 touches at the latest
Don’t overcomplicate things
In 3v3, an attack that goes on too long is often dangerous. Because every turnover leads to an immediate counter-attack.
Objective
Don’t just rush in blindly. Instead, draw the opponent to one side.
Principles
Protect the centre
Prevent passes through the middle
Push opponents outwards
Mark the player with the ball
Second player covers the slot
Third player reads the backdoor / rebound
Pressing triggers - Press immediately if:
Opponent has their back to the pitch (Moonlight Position)
Poor first touch
Pass to the touchline
Ball behind the goal
Goalkeeper’s restart is inaccurate
Opponent looks down
Ball is loose
PLAYER - F1
Press the player on the ball
Don’t let them get past
Close down one side
PLAYER - F2
Block the central passing lane
Attack the loose ball
PLAYER - F3
secure behind
check the backdoor
ready to counter-attack
In 3v3, the centre is extremely dangerous.
Therefore:
Priority 1: Protect the slot
Priority 2: Prevent a cross-field pass
Priority 3: Force the shot wide
I’d rather allow a poor angle than a cross-field pass through the middle.
Objective
Shut down the centre
Keep opponents out
Avoid reckless one-on-one duels
Block shots
Control rebounds
Launch quick counter-attacks after winning the ball
It’s less spectacular. But very efficient.
Idea
F1 chases the ball
F2/F3 position themselves higher up the pitch
Apply immediate pressure on every pass
The goalkeeper acts as a fourth player
Deliberately increase the risk
But: Only if there is clear cover. Otherwise, every mistake will be punished.
