My recommendation - The best combination is:
Offence:
1-2 Triangle Rotation + 2-1 Net-Front
Defence:
1-1-1 Compact + 1-2 Trigger Press
This gives you balance.
Enough creativity going forward.
But still provides protection against counter-attacks.
For a 3v3 team, it would work as follows:
Basis: 1-2 Triangle
Variante: 2-1 Net-Front
Konter: 2-1 Fast Break
Prinzip: Abschluss nach 2–4 Pässen
Basis: 1-1-1 Compact
Forecheck: 1-2 Press nach Trigger
If we leading: 2-1 Low Block
If we are behing: Aggressive 1-2 Pressure
⚡KEY GAMEPLAY PRINCIPLES IN 3v3 ⚡
Never lose the middle –
the centre is the priority.
One player always secures the ball –
don’t all three go for it.
Shoot with traffic –
take shots with screens and rebounds.
Fast restart mentality –
involve the goalkeeper quickly.
Pass and move –
no stationary players.
Counter-press within 2 seconds –
press immediately after losing the ball.
Simple beats clever –
in 3v3, the clear decision often wins.
⚡GAMESTRUCTURE PLAY PRINCIPLES IN 3v3 ⚡
Best basic formation: 1-2
For me, 1-2 is the most important basic
formation in 3v3.
Why the 1-2 formation is effective
good width on the pitch
clear passing angles
allows for quick shots on goal
protection against counter-attacks
easy rotation
quick recovery after losing possession
⚡Rolls per Position ⚡
ties up opponents
attacks deep
screens or rebounds in front of goal
first to forecheck after losing possession
F2 / F3 – Half-Space Player
Building play from the left/right
Quick diagonal passes
Shooting on the run
One player always covers
Goalie
play an active part
quick restarts
play the ball straight into open space
put the opposition under immediate pressure
